Canada’s 2020 roster of metal only gets more and more impressive as the year marches on somewhat apocalyptically. Quick research indicates that I missed out on quite an entertaining and impressive release with regards to Warning Sign’s debut album Left To The Sharks. This sophomore effort doesn’t appear to have the same level of ambition, but I cannot deny the Quebecois’ entertainment value. Path To Destruction may have a generic title, and be laden with tried-and-tested imagery in the artwork and song titles (how many more metal songs called “Eye Of The Storm” or “Hand Of Fate” do we really need?) – but, if one embraces the genericism, Warning Sign deliver a damn fine piece of US-style power/speed metal for fans of Vicious Rumors and the like.
