Mutiny Within: Orygins-2017.

Mutiny Within formed as “Mutiny” in 2002. The band was signed, as Mutiny, by Roadrunner Records in July 2008, but under the condition that they change their name to a less common one. In October 2008, Mutiny was officially re-baptized “Mutiny Within”. Despite these facts, the band later claimed that “Mutiny” was a different band than “Mutiny Within” and attempted to whitewash its early history and band members.

On February 23, 2011, Mutiny Within was dropped by Roadrunner Records after their debut record failed to meet the minimum sales requirement of 10,000 units. The band published several blog posts (and the news was picked up by several reputable blogs) expressing their dissatisfaction with the way the partnership ended. Mutiny Within then lost several band members and broke up shortly after.
Nevertheless, after the band reformed a year and a half later, they began claiming that they had left Roadrunner Records on their own terms, following the label’s majority shares getting bought out by Warner Brothers Music Group (an event that actually happened in 2007, not 2011).

After a year and a half long hiatus, the band reunited with a similar lineup to their debut album.
